@bloggs

"adb reboot recovery" results in it hanging at the scroll by storage options screen.
Have to hold power button for 5s to turn it off, all other buttons do nothing.

@Bloggs

When you compared my recovery image against yours i'm guessing you used a hex editor?

Have used a hex editor to compare the boot image (mtd0)from my scroll to against the one posted by Bobmcdermott
for a stock 1.02s.
There is a huge amount of differences throughout the whole file.

Is it possible that storage options have released a different boot image without altering the firmware version that doesn't support recovery?

If i were to flash Bobmcdermott's mtd0.img to my scroll and it didn't work so well, i'm uessing this would brick my scroll?

Hello all, I've been plurking for a few days getting to know my scroll and this forum has been a vital source of info.

I bought the 2.3 capacitive version and happily the market worked for paid and unpaid out of the box. Since getting my apps on and rooting with SuperOneClick (I owe that guy a beer) I have been trying to improve the performance of my tablet. Mini Widgets shows the CPU constantly maxed out and everything runs slowly and laggy compared to my HTC Desire. Anyway- the relevance to this post is:

After a lot of mucking about with my tablet trying to get CWM installed I have successfully managed to repeat the symptoms that Strawb has described. Absolutely no way I can find of getting into the bootloader or recovery. Mine is the SCR052577 with 1.02 firmware. I used both methods of getting the CWM onto my scroll (both of which appeared successful) but neither allows me access to the bootloader (which saved me when I was trying to change build.prop) or the CWM. Strawb or anyone else- do you know how to rectify this?

Build prop crashed my tablet at the Android login screen and without either bootloader or CWM I can't reflash the official update to get it running again!

I am NOT suggesting anyone does this (and certainly not responsibile for anyone bricking their scroll), but...

For 7" v1.02s Resistive, has anyone tried the 7" 8K Capacitive install...

Perhaps the v2 7" resistive scroll has something in common with the capacitive screen model that no-ones picked up on ?

It will be CWM 4.

The major difference between the capacitive and resistive scrolls is the touchscreen drivers (hence when flashed with the wrong one they break)

Hi,

A quick question...is there any way to delete restore points from the clockworkmod recovery? It's just that I have so many restore points now it gets a bit infuriating finding the right one and I'd like to trim them down a bit.

Thanks,

Linzi

Hi Lindz87 yes it is posible to delete them "you need a file manager app astro or root explorer etc"
in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup here you will find all the seved recoveries you can delet them from here
You can also rename the restore point to something you can recognise just remember that youmust not have any spaces in the new file name. if you want to seperate words in the filename use hyphon(minus sign) like-this
ps you can also remame them or delete from your pc
